Day Three: Tallac to Salt Lake City

I am a little caffeinated still, at 1:30am, which was pretty necessary to drive the 9 hours from Tahoe to Salt Lake City starting at 1pm. It’s been a long day, but I am super glad that I started it off by doing a backcountry tour up Mt. Tallac with my friend Celia and some of her ski lease roomates! It would have been a little miserable to wake up and immediately start driving – getting some outdoors time and a big time powder ski run in a wide open bowl in the backcountry was a very happy alternative….albeit it got me into Salt Lake on the later side. However, I drove directly to the airport to pick up Alex arriving just as he stepped onto the vestibule, so clearly the timing was all meant to be. There are no accidents, as Pilates taught me yesterday. I ought to just go to bed now – the plan is to wake up at 6:30 tomorrow and hit Canyon Road towards Alta before traffic gets too crazy. It’s been snowing a fair amount this week and all signs point to an epic weekend.
